Waste Reduction and Recovery
It has an R&D nature, promoting waste recovery and reinforcing the importance of the circular economy. The project was born in Guimarães, but has already reached the entire country, with hundreds of structures scattered throughout the mainland and the islands.

EcoPontas
This structure is produced in sheet metal, with a metallic finish in forge enamel. The main structure and the columns are made of stainless steel and the container where the cigarette butts are deposited is made of borosilicate glass. On the upper part, a self-adhesive vinyl presents questions, by way of a survey, acting as a factor promoting its use..
PapaChicletes
Support structure made of sheet metal, finished in forge enamel. At the top, the container where the chewing gum is placed is made of painted sheet metal. Its format is bold and appealing, and there is also room for a self-adhesive vinyl, which refers to the promotion of the circular economy.
Collected cigarette butts and chewing gum can give rise to polymers, clay and bricks.
So far, the project is already implemented in the following Municipalities and entities:
- Municipalities – Guimarães, Santarém, Funchal, Celorico de Basto, Cascais, Estarreja, Loulé, Marco de Canavezes, Viseu, Torres Vedras, Barreiro, Angra do Heroísmo, Albergaria-a-Velha, Vizela, Amadora, Cabeceiras de Basto, Vila Verde, Leiria, Sabrosa and Vila Real.
- Parish Councils – Cacia (Aveiro), Castelo Branco (Castelo Branco) and Santa Eufémia e Boa Vista (Leiria)
- Entities– Immochan Group (Alegro Shopping Centre in Setúbal, Alfragide and Castelo Branco), Armatis (Porto), Sociedade Ponto Verde, University of Minho (Guimarães), IPDJ – Portuguese Youth Institute and CascaisShopping.
