The main objective is to promote the protection of the environment and the efficient management of natural resources by encouraging sustainable tourism practices. The aim is to move towards a new environmental, economic and social model in which the consumer is both informed and committed to the environment in which tourism activities take place.

Greentour is financed by the Interreg SUDOE Programme and has a scheduled duration of 28 months and a total budget of 1.171.998,68 euros. It is composed by 9 partners from Southwest Europe (Portugal, Spain and France). The plan includes three innovation actions framed in a transregional grouping model to take advantage of the flow and exchange of information:

Includes methodologies and actions to promote the circular economy in the tourism sector on a trans-regional scale not previously addressed.
Environmental Labelling Online Application for Tourist Destinations
Promotes interregional cooperation in the SUDOE space between institutions and policy makers, taking into account the tourism sector present in the validation of the proposed instruments and strategies.

Tourist Establishments

Greentour is an opportunity to incorporate more competitive services that respect the natural and cultural heritage, adding socio-economic value to the SUDOE region and strengthening the tourism sector facing future challenges. By participating in this project tourist establishments will be able to benefit from an environmental assessment and benefit from good practice recommendations and eco-efficiency measures. Adapt your business to sustainability and position yourself as a leader in this field!
