Rural Incubator of Guimarães
The Guimarães Rural Base Incubator is a support service for the birth and growth of companies especially dedicated to rural-based initiatives, such as agriculture, agro-industry, forestry or other support services and technologies.
Who is it aimed at?
The Guimarães Rural Business Incubator supports all entrepreneurs who have an idea or business plan for a rural-based economic activity and want to implement it in Guimarães. It is preferably aimed at young farmers and entrepreneurs, residents of the municipality, the unemployed and farmers engaged in organic production.
What are the privileged business areas?
The Guimarães Rural Incubator supports projects that develop in the following economic activities
Agricultural production, in the integrated, organic production modes, etc;
Agricultural and agro-industrial production, including the commercialisation and packaging of products, namely endogenous/local products
Other related services (companies providing precision farming services,
Agricultural consulting, marketing of machinery and equipment, suppliers of factors of production, local accommodation and rural tourism, among other non-exclusive);
Technology-based activities (initiatives in Internet of Things – IOT, robotics and technology to support agricultural activity).
De que apoios posso benificiar?
Organisation of a qualification programme for rural-based entrepreneurship, aimed at promoters of business ideas who have chosen Guimarães to launch their company. The Programme involves several stages that aim to train those incubated in the preparation, consolidation and implementation of the business plan.
Seeking to facilitate access to land for new rural entrepreneurs, a Land Exchange and a Land Bank will be created, composed of abandoned land, thus conferring a use and benefit to those interested in exploring agriculture and turning it into a profitable business.
Availability of technical and pecuniary support to help promoters of business ideas in the first months of creation and launch of the company, so as to ensure equal opportunities and social inclusion, in a project to foster entrepreneurship and economic development.
Mobilising partnerships between entrepreneurs and entities of the Scientific and Technological System to add value and competitiveness to rural-based businesses created in Guimarães, encouraging experimentation activities and the integration of innovative procedures.
Projection of the Incubator's corporate identity and public actions to publicise the structure and its services. Among other promotional activities, the Entrepreneurship Fair was included as a way of signalling Guimarães' commitment to promoting rural business initiatives.
