UF Arosa and Castelões
This Landscape Lab project was submitted as an application to the Environmental Fund of the Ministry of Environment and Energy Transition, within the contest Educarte: Educate for the Territory. The project took place in the Parish Councils of Arosa and Castelões.
To educate all ages about the general characteristics of wetlands and riparian gallery, their functions and threats.
To raise awareness and empower the target public, through workshops, about the environmental importance of wetlands and their riparian gallery as a natural (sensitive) landscape value, promoting theoretical and practical activities.
Produce and shareaProduce and share a set of new teaching and learning resources to support the implementation of the project's environmental actions.
To promote the education-action of the local intergenerational public, environmental volunteers, the school community, senior citizens, among others, through concrete environmental actions based on ecological restoration, biodiversity conservation, soil and natural resources.
To enhance the landscape in inland territories through the settlement of diverse audiences, the promotion of cultural, social and environmental identity, as a means for local populations to protect and revitalise their territory.
