The Laboratório da Paisagem will mark a special milestone on July 21 with the official launch of the commemorative book “Laboratório da Paisagem – 10 Years”, a publication that revisits a decade of projects, innovation, and unwavering commitment to sustainability in Guimarães.
The official session will take place at 12:15 PM, in the auditorium of the Laboratório da Paisagem, and will be attended by the Minister for Environment and Energy, Maria da Graça Carvalho, underlining the national importance of the institution’s work. The event will also feature Domingos Bragança, Mayor of Guimarães, and Adelina Pinto, President of the Laboratório da Paisagem.
Prior to the formal session, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, the initiative “Laboratório de Portas Abertas” (Open Doors at the Lab) invites the community to experience the daily life of the institution, with interactive activities and demonstrations for all ages. Highlights include arboriculture sessions, watercourse monitoring, biodiversity workshops, and guided visits to the scientific laboratories, where visitors will be able to observe real-time research activities.
In the afternoon, between 3:00 PM and 4:00 PM, at Restaurante Formigas in Parque da Cidade, the study “The Impact of Green Spaces on Health” will be presented. Developed in collaboration with the School of Medicine of the University of Minho and the Higher Institute of Health, this research project explores the connection between green spaces and their effects on the mental and physical health of the population, with the presence of the research team behind the study.
Free registration is required.
