The Minister for Environment and Energy, Maria da Graça Carvalho, visited Guimarães to attend the launch of the book celebrating 10 years of Laboratório da Paisagem. The publication features striking images of Guimarães’ landscape and testimonials that reflect a decade of impactful work.
More than a retrospective, the book is a gateway to the future, and a tribute to all those who have contributed over the years to nurturing the belief that it is possible to build a “one-planet city.”
During her visit, Maria da Graça Carvalho praised the work carried out in Guimarães, describing the city as a strategic partner of the Government in implementing pilot projects that could serve as national models. She also emphasized that, as the European Green Capital 2026, Guimarães has the responsibility to lead by example, potentially becoming a national reference in sustainability.
Following the book presentation, the Minister officially assumed the role of President of the Honorary Committee of the European Green Capital 2026.
