Laboratório da Paisagem Joins Guimarães Municipal Health Council

Laboratório da Paisagem, represented by its Executive Director Carlos Ribeiro, is now part of the newly established Guimarães Municipal Health Council, serving as a member in the area of sustainability and environment.

The Council was officially installed on May 22, within the framework of the decentralization of health responsibilities to local municipalities. This new advisory body aims to strengthen cooperation among local entities in the definition of more integrated, effective, and community-oriented health policies.

The main functions of the Municipal Health Council include monitoring and providing opinions on the implementation of health policy at the municipal level, collaborating in the development and monitoring of municipal health plans, proposing measures to improve access and quality of health services, encouraging community participation in setting local priorities, and facilitating coordination between the municipality and health-related entities.
