The Landscape Laboratory took part in the EuroCities Academy, held in Barcelona on May 5 and 6, an event that brought together representatives from various European cities to reflect on the future of urban development through the lens of the relationship between the environment and children’s mental health.
Throughout the academy, key questions were addressed: how can we prepare cities of the future to safeguard the mental well-being of younger generations? And how can we measure the impact of urban decisions on community health?
The Landscape Laboratory’s participation aligns with its ongoing work at the intersection of environment and public health, particularly through the study of the effects of green spaces, noise pollution, and air quality on both physical and mental health.
This approach strengthens Guimarães’ position as a territory of environmental innovation and commitment to well-being, reinforcing its path toward becoming the European Green Capital in 2026.
