European consortium CircularPSP meets at the Landscape Laboratory

Guimarães was the city chosen by the European consortium CircularPSP to host the “Evaluation meeting” of the project, which began last year and brings together seven cities from seven different countries, representing 45 million citizens with the aim of investing 5.64 million euros in R&D to face the common challenge of accelerating the digital transition to a Circular Economy.

Another objective of the CircularPSP consortium is to improve the exchange of knowledge and the interconnected work of Green Public Procurement, with the aim of stimulating markets for environmentally friendly products and services.

The meeting, which began yesterday, 7 May, will continue until this Wednesday and is being held at the Landscape Laboratory. The partners are evaluating the proposals received as part of the project, which is entering its first phase, where only the five best proposals out of the 15 submitted will be developed.

The cities gathered in Guimarães will promote green public procurement and represent highly attractive markets – such as Germany, Finland, Turkey, Sweden, Ireland, Portugal and Slovenia – and have partners in the UK, such as ReLondon, and in capitals with global influence, such as Berlin, Helsinki, London and Istanbul.

The aim of the online platform https://circularpsp.eu/ is to support business processes and management flows in order to plan, procure and implement innovative circular economy solutions across Europe. Here, municipalities can work on and access public green procurement and suppliers can post their plans, projects and products to promote the local market economy.
