Campaign launched in schools to collect textile waste

Give your closet a refresh. This was the motto for another action as part of the European Week for Waste Reduction, which in Guimarães is being promoted by the Municipality of Guimarães, Laboratório da Paisagem and Vitrus Ambiente.

This morning we delivered the first container for textile waste to the Cisave Professional School, which will then be recovered by To Be Green, for example, into bags. This action is part of the RRRCICLO – Circular Economy in Guimarães initiative.

Dalila Sepúlveda, director of the environment and sustainability department of the Municipality of Guimaraes, Susana Falcão, coordinator of education for sustainability at Laboratório da Paisagem, and Filipe Falcão, from To Be Green, talked to the students about the importance of recycling textiles and the new life they are given, turning waste into new materials.
