Landscape Lab in new URBACT project on biodiversity

The “BiodiverCity” project was selected for the URBACT programme and, in Guimarães, will be led by the Landscape Laboratory.

The selected network will develop community-based approaches that contribute to enhancing biodiversity and ecosystem services, reinforcing the importance of developing urban greening and biodiversity action plans, in line with the EU Biodiversity Strategy.

In addition to the Landscape Lab, 9 other cities from 8 different countries are part of the network, including Dunaújváros (HU), Vratsa (BG), Town Veszprém (HU) Poljcane (SL), Cieza (ES), Siena (IT), Limerick City & County Council (IR) Hertogenbosch (NL) and Sarajevo (BA).

The total budget of the consortium amounts to €849,522.00 and the project is scheduled for completion in December 2025.
